Before joining Stepp & Rothwell in 2001, Dan worked for five years as a specialist in Investor Relations and Retirement Plan Services at American Century Investments.   

In October 2011 Dan was selected to be a CFP Board Ambassador, serving as a consumer advocate and representing more than 63,000 financial planning professionsals who hold the CFP mark. He is also the chief liaison between The Kansas City Star and the Greater Kansas City Chapter of the Financial Planning Association that provides weekly blogs about money matters that post on www.kansascity.com. He volunteers annually at the KSHB Channel 41 Action News Call-In show during Financial Planning Week. Additionally, Dan has participated in 'Money Makeover' stories for The Kansas City Star and WDAF-TV Fox 4.
